IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOM KIPPUR

Dear Congregants and guests,

After a beautiful Rosh Hashanah, we are looking forward to welcoming you and your family for Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur and of course our incredible Neilah. We want your experience to be both enjoyable and safe, so here are a few tips for the holiday.

  • Kol Nidre services start Tuesday evening, right after 6:30 in the Sanctuary and 6:45 for the Latin Services in the Tent.  Logistics for parking and security as well as it being a rush hour traffic-wise means it would be best to plan to arrive more than 15 minutes in advance of the stated times.
  • We do not offer babysitting or children’s services on Tuesday night for Kol Nidre.  Due to security and liability concerns, and because the Latin Service is in the Tent, children are not allowed onto the playgrounds.  The sanctity of the services are such that we also cannot have unsupervised children in the lobby during services.
  • Please take advantage of the variety of children’s services and/or the Family Service on Yom Kippur Day.  We do provide babysitting for tots, and activities for youngsters up through 12th grade.
  • We ask that you consider your fellow congregants if you should be leaving after the end of sermon/Yizkor.  There is a “shmooze” area set up outside in the lobby for you to meet and greet your friends.  The services need to go on for people staying, and that is made difficult by people congregating in the aisles and having conversations.
  • Neilah service is a large combined service that will have everyone leaving at the same time.  Please understand that there will be traffic, and plan accordingly for your break-the-fast plans.  We will be offering cake and apples and juice as you exit.

May you be inscribed in the Book of Life for a good year.
